Biography

Felipe Campuzano is a Research Scientist at the Clean Energy Research Platform at KAUST. He holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s in Energy Systems, and a Ph.D. in Materials Engineering. His main research interests include hydrogen production and utilization, and thermochemical processes such as combustion, gasification, and pyrolysis

Research Interests

My research bridges advanced thermochemical processes with sustainable process engineering to enable scalable, low-carbon technologies. I focus on alternative energy carriers (hydrogen, ammonia, biomass, end-of-life products, etc.) and waste-to-resource pathways (pyrolysis, gasification), emphasizing pilot-scale systems that translate lab innovation into industrial application. My long-term goal is to advance circular economy practices, sustainable materials engineering, and environmentally responsible manufacturing, accelerating the global transition toward net-zero energy systems.
